For the 4/5th week of ‘lock down’ in New Zealand, I chose the Soft Egg Chair by Philippe Starck as the subject of my CAD sculpting exercise. I thought this would be easier to model than last weeks ‘Easy Chair’ but this didn’t end up being the case… There is some complex blending where the front leg meets the main shell of the seat, as well as the under seat structure. Combined with the split line that runs up the front leg and into the lip of the main shell, this proved to be challenging, especially with only photographs for reference.
