I have recently installed Solidworks 2023 and thought I better have another look at the G3 constraint in sketcher. The subject matter is a bubble letter P, with a focus on getting a good flow across all surfaces with minimal interruptions. I’m fairly happy with the result and am sure this could be resolved further, however I think for the purposes of this video it is fine.
One other trick I use in this video is creating a variable diameter loft using arcs and the centreline feature in loft. I have used this to create a variable trim, instead of the normal sweep/pipe trim.
It seems that the G3 constraint is more robust than in 2021; I had way less cases of the sketch overdefining when adding the constraint. I’m unsure whether Dassault have done any work on the constraint, it just seems better.
