This video covers what I discovered in my first exploration of panelling in Solidworks. Fairly successful however there is a lack of flexibility when it comes to changing the grid/panel count, as it requires rereferencing most features lower down the tree… Apart from that, the result seems fairly stable when it comes to changes or tweaks to the controlling surface, or the smaller ‘pillowed’ surfaces. I learnt a few things; using face curves and sketch segments to create a grid and then how to derive a diamond grid from the rectangular grid.
